Araghchi: Negotiations on Final Deal with US Won’t Commence if Threats Continue

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said Tuesday large crowds gathered to pay tribute to Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Imam Sayyed Ali Khamenei, stressing that negotiations on a final deal with the United States will not begin if threats continue.

Hawzah News Agency- In a post on X following funeral ceremonies in the city of Qom on Tuesday, Araghchi said millions of proud Iranians rallied in unity to honor Grand Ayatollah Khamenei and his legacy.

“Neither them nor our Brave Armed Forces are moved by any threats,” he affirmed.

In this context, the top Iranian diplomat said: “Para 13 of the MoU is clear: Negotiations on final Deal will not commence if threats continue Honor your signature.”

Araghchi’s remarks came hours after Trump warned that Washington “is prepared to use military force if diplomacy fails”, insisting Tehran “must never acquire a nuclear weapon.”

In his post, Araghchi also shared photographs from the funeral ceremony in Qom alongside his message.

On Tuesday morning, millions of mourners gathered at the Holy Jamkaran Mosque in Qom to offer funeral prayers for the martyred Leader and members of his family.

The multi-day funeral began on Friday with Imam Khamenei’s body lying in state at Tehran’s Imam Khomeini Mosalla and foreign dignitaries and religious figures paying their respects. It continued on Saturday and Sunday with a public farewell and prayers, respectively.

On Monday, large crowds packed the streets of Tehran as the funeral convoy made its way through the Iranian capital.
